I’m the associate principal violist with the Alabama Symphony Orchestra. Some of my colleagues include Bela Fleck, Amy Grant, Indigo Girls, Gil Shaham, Renee Fleming, and Mark O’Connor.

I greatly enjoy the work of photographers Lillian Bassman, Dorothea Lange, Peter Lindbergh, Alfred Stieglitz, James Wilson and Joel Meyerowitz.

Other visual artists I often refer to include Henri Matisse, Franz Kline, John Singer Sargent, and Vincent Van Gogh.

Musically, above all I enjoy Mozart. That said, I greatly respect any composer who successfully cultivates an original idiom, whether that’s Hindemith, Tower, Bruckner, or Satie.
